FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO SET UP YOUR SPANISH BINDERS:
Step 1: Place all important course documents before the first divider. There is no label necessary for this section. This is where you should place your course syllabus, binder guidelines, online book login info, upcoming events & project info, etc.. Work does not go here!
Step 2: Label the 1st divider “Las Frases Diarias”. Please keep all daily translations in this section. Make sure you write the Spanish and English phrase every day and include the date in Spanish. You may have several dates on a single piece of paper. If they are all in this section in order by date, it will be very easy to check them during binder inspections.
Step 3: Label the 2nd divider “El Vocabulario y La Gramática”. This section is dedicated to vocabulary, grammar notes, and power point notes. This is solely a study section. It is important that everything in your binder is properly labeled (date, unit & lesson #), page number, title, etc.).
Step 4: Label the 3rd divider “La Práctica”. This section is designed to practice Spanish. Place all assignments (homework/classwork) that apply Spanish in this section. This section will demonstrate your understanding of the vocabulary and grammar concepts of each unit. GIVE EVERY ASSIGNMENT A TITLE, DATE, AND NAME!!!!
Step 5: Label the 4th divider “La Cultura”. This section is designed to keep information about the countries and cultures that speak Spanish. All activities and information that we do relating to cultural celebrations and country specific studies will be kept in this section.
Step 5: Label the 5th and last divider “Las Evaluaciones”. All graded assessments should be kept in this section. This includes projects, writing assignments that have FCA’s and or rubrics, speaking assessment scores, tests, quizzes, etc..
Please note: Binders will be purged and cleaned out at the end of every term. Some documents will not be thrown away and will be transferred to portfolios, so please wait for further instruction on exactly what you can get rid of.
